Caracterização faneróptica, biométrica e reprodutiva de suínos da raça Caruncho

Abstract

Resumo: Muitos fatores como a importação de raças exóticas, mudanças no sistema de criação de suínos e mudanças no hábito alimentar da população fez com que rebanhos de raças nativas reduzissem, chegando à risco de extinção. É o caso da raça Caruncho, tema deste estudo, que apresenta particularidades que tornam seus produtos finais distintos, com valor agregado. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar faneróptica e biometricamente animais da raça Caruncho, contribuindo assim para sua conservação e valorização. No capítulo um foi realizada a caracterização faneróptica e biométrica de suínos da raça, em um rebanho "in situ" no município de São João do Triunfo Paraná, além de índices reprodutivos coletados por produtores da Mesorregião Sudeste Paranaense. Os animais apresentaram em sua maioria padrão de orelhas asiáticas, perfil cefálico ultraconcavilíneo e pelagem branca com manchas pretas, além de serem porcos pequenos que apresentaram uma média de 6,41 leitões por parto. O segundo capítulo contempla a caracterização faneróptica e biométrica de porcos nativos conhecidos localmente como Caruncho, Pirapitinga e Caruncho roxo de um rebanho "in situ" com sistema de criação tradicional no município de Silveira, São Paulo. Os animais apresentaram padrão racial semelhante ao descrito na literatura, o Caruncho roxo, apesar de ser semelhante ao Caruncho pintado, apresentou particularidades como a cor arroxeada e o fato de serem animais pelados

Abstract: Many factors such as the importation of exotic breeds, changes in the pig breeding system and changes in the population's eating habits have caused herds of native breeds to reduce, reaching the risk of extinction. This is the case of the Caruncho breed, the subject of this study, which presents particularities that make its final products distinct, with added value. The present work aimed to characterize phaneroptically and biometrically animals of the Caruncho breed, thus contributing to their conservation and appreciation. In chapter one, the phaneroptical and biometric characterization of pigs of the breed was carried out in an ''in situ'' herd in the municipality of São João do Triunfo Paraná, in addition to reproductive indices collected by producers in the Southeast Paraná Mesoregion. The animals mostly had an Asian ear pattern, an ultraconcavilinear head profile and white coat with black spots, in addition to being small pigs that presented an average of 6,41 piglets per birth. The second chapter contemplates the phaneroptical and biometric characterization of native pigs known locally as Caruncho, Pirapitinga and Caruncho Roxo from an ''in situ'' herd with a traditional breeding system in the municipality of Silveira, São Paulo. The animals presented a racial pattern similar to that described in the literature, the purple Caruncho, despite being similar to the painted Caruncho, presented particularities such as the purplish color and the fact that they are naked animals
