Influência do cálcio no controle de pragas
Abstract
Resumo: Diversos estudos demostram a influência da adubação e fertilidade no desenvolvimento dos vegetais, enfatizando as funções dos nutrientes no metabolismo e a importância de suprir as necessidades minerais das culturas. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo demonstrar a importância do cálcio no controle de pragas. Através de uma revisão bibliográfica utilizando como base artigos, teses e livros foram destacados aspectos fisiológicos e morfológicos sobre os benefícios do cálcio no controle de pragas agrícolas abordando temas abrangentes a nutrição de plantas. O cálcio como macronutriente essencial, constituinte estrutural da parede celular vegetal, garante maior rigidez aos tecidos formando uma espécie de barreira ao ataque de patógenos e pragas. O elemento participa de diversas funções fisiológicas e, quando em quantidades satisfatórias no solo, é capaz de proporcionar a redução do pH através da calagem contribuindo com a nutrição mineral de plantas. Muitas pesquisas do ponto de vista fisiológico e químico ainda precisam ser realizadas para que demais funções do cálcio sejam conhecidas e esclarecidas Abstract: Several studies demonstrate the influence of fertilization and fertility on plant development, emphasizing the functions of nutrients in metabolism and the importance of meeting the mineral needs of crops. The present work aimed to demonstrate the importance of calcium in pest control. Through a bibliographic review based on articles, theses and books, physiological and morphological aspects of the benefits of calcium in the control of agricultural pests were highlighted, addressing comprehensive themes of plant nutrition. Calcium as an essential macronutrient, structural constituent of the plant cell wall, guarantees greater rigidity to the tissues, forming a kind of barrier to the attack of pathogens and pests. The element participates in several physiological functions and, when in satisfactory amounts in the soil, it is able to provide a reduction in pH through liming, contributing to the mineral nutrition of plants. Much research from a physiological and chemical point of view still needs to be carried out so that other calcium functions are known and clarified
