Geometria nas séries iniciais : por que não? a escolha de conteúdos - uma tarefa reveladora da capacidade de decidir dos docentes

Abstract

Resumo: Esta dissertação é o resultado do estudo sobre as intenções pedagógicas presentes no ensino praticado com conteúdos de Geometria por onze professoras das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental. O ensino é entendido como a prática pedagógica com conteúdos específicos, numa perspectiva de superação do método único. As análises das narrativas das professoras fornecem indicativos sobre a escolha de conteúdos e a sua articulação com as práticas didáticas que declaram desenvolver nas entrevistas. Os conteúdos de Geometria são tomados nas suas noções de Espaço e Forma, bem como considerados fundamentais para a Educação Matemática. A presença e os hiatos em relação a esse eixo de conteúdo matemático são vistos neste estudo como expressões da capacidade de decidir dos docentes em favor de um ensino público que se oriente pelas dimensões científicas e sociais do conhecimento. O tema foco selecionado das narrativas passou por três diferentes leituras atendendo aos seguintes objetivos: 1. dialogar com as invariantes (continuidades) e individuantes (rupturas) das práticas das professoras com conteúdos matemáticos ensinados; 2. propor a discussão dessas práticas sob a ótica de uma concepção de Educação Matemática através do ensino de noções de Geometria pela compreensão de conceitos, em longo prazo; 3. articular a problemática dos conteúdos escolares com os diversos elementos estruturantes da Didática em vista das realidades e interesses sociais dos sujeitos.

Abstract: This dissertation is the result of the study about the pedagogic intentions present in the teaching activity performed with geometry contents by eleven teachers of the beginning series of the teaching activity, understood as the pedagogic practice with specific contents, in a perspective of overcoming the unique method. By analyzing the narratives of the teachers, one can see the clues about the choice of the contents and their articulation with the didactic practices they declare to develop in the interviews. The contents of geometry are considered in their idea of Space and Form, fundamental to the Mathematical Education. The presence, and the gaps in relation to this axis of mathematical content are seen in this study as expressions of the decision hability of the teachers in favor of a public education, oriented by the cientific and social dimensions of knowledge. The chosen focus theme of the narratives was analyzed in three different points of view, owing to the following objectives: 1. To dialogue with the continuities and ruptures of the practices of the teachers using taught mathematical contents. 2. Propose the discussion of these practices under the otic of the conception of Mathematical Education through the teaching of Geometry by the understanding of concepts, in long term. 3. Articulate the problematic of the school contents with the many structural elements of Didactic, considering the realities and social interests of the subjects.
