Um homem olhando o breu : tradução rítmica e comentários ao Édipo de Sêneca

Abstract

Resumo: O objetivo principal desta dissertação é realizar uma tradução rítmica e poética de um trecho peça Édipo do filósofo e tragediógrafo Lúcio Aneu Sêneca, a fim de investigar o funcionamento do ritmo desses discursos, como definiu Henri Meschonnic em seu livro Poética do traduzir (2010), e pensar também as implicações performáticas e performativas, de cada um desses textos sobre o corpo político romano. Ou seja, dentro de uma poética romana, seja ela dramática ou lírica, tentaremos analisar os metros aplicados por Sêneca à peça, levando em consideração a dimensão essencialmente oral e mnemônica desses padrões rítmicos. Trata-se, portanto, de investigar a materialidade do texto a partir de uma perspectiva antropológica, como bem define a classicista francesa Florence Dupont em Aristóteles ou o vampiro do teatro ocidental (2018), levando em conta o contexto histórico de enunciação dos textos dramáticos, os recursos métricos utilizados e o fim a que se propunham.

Abstract: The main goal of this Master's thesis is to do a rhythmic and poetic translation of some fragment of the play Oedipus, written by the philosopher and playwright Lucius Annaeus Seneca, in order to investigate how the rhythm in these discourses works, as it was defined by Henri Meschonnic in his book Poetics of translating (2010), and also to think about the dimension of performance and the performative implications of each of these texts on the Roman body political. In other words, within a Roman poetics, whether it is dramatic or lyrical, we will try to analyze the meters applied by Seneca to the piece, considering the particularly oral and mnemonic dimension of these patterns. Therefore, it is about investigating the materiality of the text from an anthropological perspective, as the French classicist Florence Dupont defined in Aristotle or vampire of Western theater (2018), keeping in mind the historical context of enunciation of such dramatic texts, the metric schemes and the purpose for which they were intended.
