Abstract: In the expanding scenario of bi/multilingual education in Brazil, research in this field of studies is increasingly necessary, paying attention to the various contexts and components in which bi/multilingualism is present. The concepts of translanguaging/translingual practices bring the perspectives of Canagarajah (2011a; 2011b; 2013; 2015; 2020), and García and Wei (2014; 2016). Given the scarcity of studies dealing with translanguaging in the context of writing in basic education in Brazil, the present paper aims to verify to what extent and in what ways the linguistic phenomenon of translanguaging occurs in the text production in English, German and Portuguese lessons of 8th grade students in a private regular education school in Curitiba. In order to achieve this goal, a qualitative-interpretative research of ethnographic nature was conducted. Firstly, the class that would participate in the research was chosen. After that, the students interested in participating in the research expressed their intention by delivering the documentation duly signed. This was also done with the three teachers invited to participate in the research. These teachers, in turn, jointly defined the types of texts to be produced by the students. Throughout the year, the participating students produced texts of three genres in each of the three disciplines involved. These texts were corrected by the teachers and returned to the students. Both teachers and students involved in the research participated in semi-structured interviews. The data were categorized and analyzed qualitatively and interpreted according to the context and the research participants. Finally, the data enabled a look at the different resources employed in writing practices, as well as the importance of teachers' attitudes, and the need for dialogue with students regarding translanguaging practices.
