A questão da voz narrativa em Neverwhere : do romance aos quadrinhos

Abstract

Resumo: As adaptações estão presentes em diversas esferas da contemporaneidade, não apenas nas relações entre o eixo literatura-cinema, mas também em outras mídias como o teatro, a televisão, a internet e os quadrinhos. Ao propor um estudo entre as obras Neverwhere (1996) de Neil Gaiman, romance, e Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere (2005), história em quadrinhos realizada principalmente por Mike Carey e Glenn Fabry, buscase perceber como a voz narrativa se ressignifica por meio da transposição em diferentes mídias. A partir das concepções e estudos sobre intermidialidade e voz narrativa, procurase perceber o processo de adaptação, em específico na produção de vozes narrativas, não como uma tentativa de transposição fiel para outras mídias, mas como um processo independente com a sua própria força comunicativa. Desta maneira, cada adaptação possibilita modos de interação e construção diferentes, o que enriquece as manifestações artísticas. Palavras-chave: Intermidialidade. Adaptação. Voz narrativa. Abstract: Adaptations are present in several spheres of contemporary times, not only in the relation between literature and cinema but also in other media such as theater, television, the internet and comics. By proposing a study among Neil Gaiman's works Neverwhere (1996), novel, and Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere (2005), comic-book story accomplished mainly by Mike Carey and Glenn Fabry, it is sought to perceive how the narrative voice is resignified through the transposition in various media. From the conceptions of intermediality and narrative voice, the aim of the present work is to understand, mainly through the creation of narrative voices, the adaptation not as a process that attempts to transpose faithfully into other media, but as a process that values each media's communicative force. In this way, each adaptation enables different artistic texts and modes of interaction which enriches artistic manifestations. Keywords: Intermediality. Adaptation. Narrative voice. Palimpsest.
