Estratégias de polidez nos pedidos feitos em Libras : um estudo de faces

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho trata dos aspectos da Polidez Linguística aplicada à Libras a partir do modelo teórico de Brown & Levinson (1978). Com base nesta teoria linguística, a hipótese, comprovada nos dados, é de que os marcadores de Polidez na Libras, em especial, os marcadores não manuais (MNN) - expressões faciais e corporais - podem, em determinados contextos, atenuar o risco de perda da face e, em outros, potencializá-lo. Para testar tal hipótese, o material enunciativo foi obtido por meio de DCT (Discoursie-Completion Test) e aplicado em 54 informantes de uma Universidade pública de Curitiba, com idades entre 20 e 50 anos, falantes da Língua Portuguesa e da Língua de Sinais Brasileira. Do corpus construído, 10 enunciados foram selecionados para análise, tanto dos falantes de Libras (surdos e sinalizantes ouvintes), como do português. A proposta foi a de investigar, por método comparativo, as estratégias de Polidez usadas para realizar pedidos em Libras. Neste âmbito, observou-se, principalmente, o modo como o falante de Libras atinge as faces positiva e negativa na realização de seus atos de fala. Os resultados da pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, apontam que, embora componham a Polidez na Libras, elementos linguísticos tais como os lexicais, o tamanho do espaço, a velocidade com que o sinal é realizado, a sintaxe escolhida, os falantes de Libras realmente usam os marcadores não manuais (MNN) - produzidos pelas expressões faciais e pelas expressões corporais (em especial cabeça, ombros e tronco) -, para atenuar ou potencializar a ameaça à face. Abstract: The present work deals with the aspects of Linguistic Politeness applied to Libras from the theoretical model of Brown & Levinson (1978). Based on this linguistic theory, the hypothesis, evidenced in the data, is that Pound Pollution markers, especially nonmanual markers (MNN) - facial and body expressions - may, in certain contexts, mitigate the risk of loss of the face and, in others, to enhance it. To test this hypothesis, the enunciative material was obtained through DCT (Discoursie-Completion Test) and applied in 54 informants of a public University of Curitiba, aged between 20 and 50 years, speakers of the Portuguese Language and the Brazilian Sign Language . From the corpus constructed, 10 utterances were selected for analysis, both of the speakers of Libras (deaf and signaling listeners), as well as of the Portuguese. The proposal was to investigate, by comparative method, the Polity strategies used to make orders in Pounds. In this context, it was mainly observed how the speaker of Libras reaches the positive and negative faces in the performance of his speech acts. The qualitative research results point out that although they compose politeness in pounds, linguistic elements such as lexicals, size of space, speed at which the signal is performed, syntax chosen, Pound speakers actually use non-manual markers (MNN) produced by facial expressions and body expressions (especially head, shoulders and trunk) to attenuate or enhance face threat.
