Na beira do Largo : um documentário sobre moradia, lazer e trabalho no Largo da Ordem

Abstract

Resumo : Na beira do Largo é um documentário que busca evidenciar a insuficiência das políticas de segurança e urbanismo aplicadas pela Prefeitura de Curitiba na região do Largo da Ordem, coração do centro histórico a cidade. O filme é narrado por aqueles que tiveram suas vidas afetadas pela atuação do poder público na região, atravessando os três pilares que constituem a vida urbana: trabalho, moradia e lazer. A partir da reflexão posta por Jane Jacobs, em Morte e vida de grandes cidades (2022), e Néstor García Canclini, em Imaginários culturais da cidade: conhecimento/ espetáculo/ desconhecimento (2008), o trabalho questiona a eficácia do policiamento ostensivo na segurança pública e analisa o atual desenvolvimento urbano de Curitiba, propondo uma discussão acerca do uso misto dos espaços nas grandes cidades. Depois, é feita uma análise sobre a vida nas metrópoles a partir das leituras de Louis Wirth, William Foote Whyte, Erwin Goffman e Marshal Berman. Sobre o formato escolhido, é estabelecida uma linha do tempo da história do documentário, na qual são discutidas as definições apresentadas por Fernão Ramos, Bill Nichols, John Grierson e Jean-Louis Comolli, complementadas pelas reflexões de Arlindo Machado sobre as entrevistas in loco. Quanto a parte metodológica, são utilizadas as contribuições de Pedro Demo e Maria Immacolata Vassallo de Lopes sobre a pesquisa em comunicação, bem como os escritos de Roberto Damatta sobre antropologia social e as análises de Anne Goliot-Lété e Francis Vanoye em torno da estruturação dos filmes

Abstract : Na beira do Largo is a documentary that seeks to highlight the inadequacy of the security and urban planning policies implemented by the Prefeitura de Curitiba in the Largo da Ordem region, the heart of the city's historic center. The film is narrated by those whose lives have been affected by the actions of the public power in the region, covering the three pillars that constitute urban life: work, housing, and leisure. Based on the reflections put forward by Jane Jacobs, in Morte e vida de grandes cidades (2022), and Néstor García Canclini, in Imaginários cultura da cidade: conhecimento/ especial/desconhecimento (2008), the work questions the effectiveness of ostensive policing in public security and analyzes the current urban development of Curitiba, proposing a discussion about the mixed use of spaces in large bcities. Afterwards, an analysis of life in metropolises is made based on the readings of Louis Wirth, William Foote Whyte, Erwin Goffman, and Marshal Berman. Regarding the chosen format, a timeline of the history of the documentary is established, in which the definitions presented by Fernão Ramos, Bill Nichols, John Grierson and Jean-Louis Comolli are discussed, complemented by Arlindo Machado's reflections on the in loco interviews. Regarding the methodological part, the contributions of Pedro Demo and Maria Immacolata Vassallo de Lopes on communication research are used, as well as the writings of Roberto Damatta on social anthropology and the analyses of Anne Goliot-Lété and Francis Vanoye on the structuring of the films
