Mulata e doméstica como estereótipos da mulher negra : permanências e avanços em

Abstract

Resumo : Este trabalho analisa as personagens Sol, Jenifer, Bruna e Kate, da telenovela "Vai na Fé", para verificar se elas se encaixam nos estereótipos da mulata e da doméstica ou se refletem uma mudança na representação da mulher negra nas telenovelas brasileiras. Para isso, foi realizada uma análise fílmica com base na abordagem de Imagem e Som proposta por Penafria (2009), complementada pelos estudos de Lélia Gonzalez (2020) sobre estereótipos, além de um panorama histórico da representatividade negra nas telenovelas da Rede Globo. A pesquisa concluiu que, embora as personagens apresentem momentos em que se alinham aos estereótipos, elas também protagonizam cenas que abordam temas como afeto, inteligência emocional, realização de sonhos e autoconfiança, elementos que contribuem para a evolução da representatividade da mulher negra. Dessa forma, a telenovela sugere, ainda que de maneira gradual, a possibilidade de construir novas representações de personagens negras, capazes de gerar identificação positiva nos telespectadores.

Abstract : The objective of this work was to analyze the characters Sol, Jenifer, Bruna, and Kate from the soap opera "Vai na Fé," in order to determine whether they fit the stereotypes of the mulatta and the domestic worker, or if they reflect a change in the representation of Black women in Brazilian soap operas. For this purpose, a film analysis was conducted based on the Image and Sound approach proposed by Penafria (2009), complemented by the studies of Lélia Gonzalez (2020) on stereotypes, as well as a historical overview of Black representation in Rede Globo soap operas. The research concluded that, although the characters have moments where they align with stereotypes, they also play scenes that address themes such as affection, emotional intelligence, achieving dreams, and self-confidence, elements that contribute to the evolution of representation of black women. In this way, the soap opera suggests, albeit gradually, the possibility of creating new representations of black characters that can generate positive identification in viewers
