Revista de Regenboog (1953-2024) : documentação para o estudo das práticas linguísticas, sociais e interculturais de imigrantes holandeses no Brasil

Abstract

Resumo: Este trabalho de pesquisa de doutorado em Linguagem e Práticas Sociais se dedica ao estudo das práticas linguísticas, sociais e interculturais presentes a partir da revista mensal De Regenboog, circulando nas colônias holandesas no estado do Paraná e em outras localidades no Brasil e no exterior desde 1953. A revista, atualmente publicada pela Associação Cultural Brasil-Holanda, tem sido um elo cultural vital para os imigrantes holandeses e seus descendentes, preservando laços entre comunidades e culturas. Por meio de análise de documentos históricos, relatos de indivíduos envolvidos com a revista e exames das edições ao longo dos anos, a pesquisa busca explorar como as práticas linguísticas e culturais evoluíram e se adaptaram à convivência das línguas holandesa e portuguesa. A relevância da pesquisa reside na lacuna de estudos linguísticos focados nas colônias holandesas no Brasil. Ao explorar o conteúdo e evolução da revista, a pesquisa oferece insights valiosos sobre o bilinguismo, a interculturalidade e a preservação cultural, contribuindo para a compreensão mais profunda da identidade dessas comunidades. Esta pesquisa, baseada na revista De Regenboog, oferece uma abordagem única para investigar as complexas interações entre língua, cultura e identidade nas colônias holandesas no Brasil, enriquecendo o entendimento da história e da evolução dessas comunidades ao longo das décadas.

Abstract: This doctoral research in Language and Social Practices is dedicated to the study of linguistic, social, and intercultural practices present in the monthly magazine De Regenboog, circulating in Dutch colonies in the state of Paraná and other locations in Brazil and abroad since 1953. The magazine, currently published by the Associação Cultural Brasil-Holanda (Cultural Association Brazil-Netherlands), has been a vital cultural link for Dutch immigrants and their descendants, preserving ties between communities and cultures. Through the analysis of historical documents, accounts from individuals involved with the magazine, and examinations of editions over the years, the research seeks to explore how linguistic and cultural practices have evolved and adapted to the coexistence of Dutch and Portuguese languages. The significance of the research lies in the gap of linguistic studies focused on Dutch colonies in Brazil. By exploring the content and evolution of the magazine, the research provides valuable insights into bilingualism, interculturality, and cultural preservation, contributing to a deeper understanding of the identity of these communities. This research, based on De Regenboog, offers a unique approach to investigating the complex interactions between language, culture, and identity in Dutch colonies in Brazil, enriching the understanding of the history and evolution of these communities over the decades.

SAMENVATTING: Dit doctoraal onderzoek in Taal en Sociale Praktijken is gewijd aan de studie van linguïstische, sociale en interculturele praktijken die aanwezig zijn in het maandelijkse tijdschrift De Regenboog, dat circuleert in de Nederlandse kolonies in de staat Paraná en op andere locaties in Brazilië en daarbuiten sinds 1953. Het tijdschrift, momenteel uitgegeven door de Associação Cultural Brasil-Holanda (Culturele Vereniging Brazilië- Nederland), is een vitaal cultureel verbindingspunt geweest voor Nederlandse immigranten en hun nakomelingen, waarbij banden tussen gemeenschappen en culturen worden behouden. Door middel van de analyse van historische documenten, verslagen van personen betrokken bij het tijdschrift en onderzoeken van edities door de jaren heen, zoekt het onderzoek te verkennen hoe linguïstische en culturele praktijken zijn geëvolueerd en aangepast aan het samenleven van de Nederlandse en Portugese talen. De relevantie van het onderzoek ligt in het hiaat aan taalkundige studies gericht op Nederlandse kolonies in Brazilië. Door de inhoud en evolutie van het tijdschrift te verkennen, biedt het onderzoek waardevolle inzichten in tweetaligheid, interculturaliteit en culturele behoud, wat bijdraagt aan een dieper begrip van de identiteit van deze gemeenschappen. Dit onderzoek, gebaseerd op De Regenboog, biedt een unieke benadering om de complexe interacties tussen taal, cultuur en identiteit in Nederlandse kolonies in Brazilië te onderzoeken, wat het begrip van de geschiedenis en evolutie van deze gemeenschappen door de decennia heen verrijkt.
