Da catástrofe à mestiçagem : os anjos na poesia de Marcelo Ariel

Abstract

Resumo: Esta tese tem como objetivo analisar as múltiplas aparições do anjo na obra poética de Marcelo Ariel, que se manifestam em seu próprio nome (Ariel), em títulos de livros e em poemas. Para isso, serão exploradas as referências ao anjo presentes em alguns poemas selecionados dos livros de Ariel, nomeadamente a antologia Ou o silêncio contínuo (2019), e a plaquete As três Marias no túmulo de Jan van Eyck (2022) e, para complementar o debate, alguns poemas e entrevistas de Marcelo Ariel a jornais, blogs e revistas literárias eletrônicas. Além disso, será resgatada parte da trajetória histórico-cultural do anjo, investigando sua representatividade e significado em diferentes momentos da sociedade antiga e contemporânea. Dessa forma, discutem-se as implicações dessa figura na expressão artísticocultural que é a poesia de Marcelo Ariel. Os principais temas abordados serão a catástrofe (eco/social), englobando as noções de ruínas, barbárie e violência. Também será examinada a intertextualidade entre a literatura e outras formas de arte, especialmente por meio de recursos ecfrásticos. Por meio de uma cartografia angélica que mapeia os movimentos e aparições dessa figura nos poemas, a hipótese dessa tese é que há a presença de um anjo mestiço em tal poética que se constrói por meio da relação com outras artes, culturas e temporalidades, além de se pautar em alguns elementos de escrita citados por Marcelo Ariel: a mestiçagem, o onírico e o surtológico.

Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to analyze the multiple appearances of the Angel in Marcelo Ariel's poetic work, which are manifested in his own name (Ariel), in book titles and in poems. The mentions to the Angel are present in selected poems from Ariel's anthology Ou o silêncio contínuo (2019), and the booklet As três Marias no túmulo de Jan van Eyck (2022) and, to complement the discussions, in some of Marcelo Ariel's poems and interviews in newspapers, blogs and electronic literary magazines. Furthermore, those appearances will be considered as part of the cultural-historical trajectory of the Angel, to investigate its representativeness and meaning at different moments in ancient and contemporary society. Afterwards, we will analyze the implications of this figure in the artistic-cultural expression that is Marcelo Ariel's poetry. The main themes addressed will be catastrophe (eco/social), encompassing the notions of ruins, barbarism, and violence. Intertextuality between literature and other art forms, especially through ekphrastic resources, will also be examined. By means of an angelic cartography that maps the movements and appearances of this figure in the poems, the hypothesis of this thesis is that there can be found the presence of a mestizo angel in this poetics, which is constructed through the relationship with other arts, cultures and temporalities, besides being based on some elements of writing cited by Marcelo Ariel: mestizaje, the oneiric and the surtological.
