Resumo : Este estudo aborda a problemática das fake news, destacando sua relevância na sociedade contemporânea desde 2016. Investigando os perfis suscetíveis à desinformação no Brasil, a pesquisa adota uma abordagem histórica, conceitual e hipotética, utilizando uma metodologia quantitativa com 141 participantes. Os resultados revelam uma associação entre confiança no jornalismo profissional e menor propensão a acreditar em fake news, contribuindo para a compreensão do fenômeno no contexto brasileiro. A complexidade do tema é evidenciada pela dificuldade em generalizar devido à natureza específica da amostra e à análise individual para cada notícia falsa, ressaltando a importância de abordagens cautelosas na compreensão da disseminação da desinformação no contexto brasileiroAbstract : This study addresses the issue of fake news, highlighting its relevance in contemporary society since 2016. Investigating profiles susceptible to misinformation in Brazil, the research takes a historical, conceptual, and hypothetical approach, employing a quantitative methodology with 141 participants. The results reveal an association between trust in professional journalism and a lower propensity to believe in fake news, contributing to the understanding of the phenomenon in the Brazilian context.
