Os estudos de Wilson da Costa Bueno, assim como de outros especialistas em ciência e comunicação, foram essenciais para embasar a parte teórica deste trabalho – que resultou na reportagem "Sob tabus e sem coberturas, seleção embrionária ainda é privilégio" Abstract : Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) of embryos, popularly known as embryo selection or biopsy, constitutes yet another advance in reproductive health: it enables the prevention of diseases incompatible with life and the consequent realization of the right to health. This Final Paper aims to highlight the importance of the procedure for women and men with hereditary genetic diseases or who carries pathogenic mutations that might lead to genetic diseases in their children, in addition to encourage the search for regulation and coverage of PGD in the public health system. To do this we sought to understand the different types of biopsy indications; interpret data about the procedure and its cost; and compare the demand for diagnosis with the scenario of public policies offering incentives for the procedure. The format chosen is the multimedia news report, which gives impetus to the subject and provides the reader with opportunities to understand the subject, based on elements such as photos, videos, audios and illustrations. The product is based on scientific dissemination and health journalism, areas that have undergone changes in recent years and demand responsibility and precision in the construction of news – avoiding the spectacularization of the subject. The studies of Wilson Bueno, as well as other experts in science and communication, were essential to support the theoretical part of this work – which resulted in the news report "Under taboos and without coverage, embryonic selection still a privilege"
