The expansion of planted forests in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil, shows the need of adopting new technologies for the maintenance of competitive forest productive systems. Among them, is quoted the use of polymer absorbent gel, as a manner of aid plantations in dryer seasons ofthe year, or in areas with irregular rain distribution. This is the case of the Southeast area of Pará (Brazil), where the Companhia Vale do Rio Doce implants industrial forests, greatest part with the Eucalyptus spp. gender. Thus, the central objective of this work, was evaluation of the effects in different manners of Hydroplan-EB gel usage in the survival of eucalyptus seedlings, at Dom Eliseu's area, state of Pará. Fifteen treatments were installed with different forms of gel usage, being gathered in three groups with different doses and irrigation: wrapped, incorporated and premoisturized. It was verified that the wrapped method obtained one of the shortest indexes of seedlings survival. The conclusion was that the irrigation at the "incorporated" treatments provided larger indexes of seedlings survival when they occurred after the planting, and not in its pre-irrigation. It was also verified, that after 30 days many gel treatments had the sarne statistical behavior of the witness without the gel. It was identified the need of new studies to evaluate the effects of the gel in loamy soil with different irrigation brakes, because its use at the study area haven't provided similar results to other researched works.
