Abstract: Education Science, Technology and Society - CTS, has been a trend in science teaching at all levels and is consolidated as an alternative to meet today's educational demands, aggravated in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research problem was restricted to delimiting the possible contributions and limits that a proposal of (re)configuration in the Physics II discipline, structured from the CTS education and Scientific Literacy Axes, can bring to Teachers in Training Initial – PFI, from the 5th period of the Degree in Chemistry at IFAC-campus Xapuri. On the other hand, the general objective focused on identifying and analyzing potentialities, limits and contributions of the didactic insertion of STS education and axes of Scientific Literacy, in the undergraduates. The investigative methodological theoretical approach adopted referred to the construction of a didactic model from the elaboration of a Didactic Sequence - SD, based on a theme of social relevance, entitled "Eita! There was no light", structured with a didactic approach referenced in the "Three Pedagogical Moments - 3MP". The qualitative research had the approach of "pedagogical intervention", and the records obtained for data analysis came from questionnaires and individual and collective textual productions. Data analysis obtained in this process were interpreted in light of content analysis, supported by the ATLAS.ti software. This analytical procedure provided subsidies to assess that the investigation of the theme of social relevance, structured in the proposed didactic model, potentiated the association between STS relationships at different levels, brought motivation to PFIs and favored the development of decision-making. Regarding the promotion of scientific and technological literacy, data analysis revealed a differentiated appropriation by group of indicators. Among the obstacles found, we can point to the challenge of the interdisciplinary character of CTS education and the precarious mediation of Emergency Remote Teaching-ERE, permeated by the lack of connectivity and inadequate physical study interfaces, which have resulted in the detriment of communication, the capacity for expression, argumentation and, therefore, fruitful dialogue.
