Poesia. Pós-moderno. Contemporâneo. Abstract: This research has as its theme the work of Carlos Drummond de Andrade and its unfolding within the aesthetic and social dynamics. The importance of this poet to the Brazilian Literature is immeasurable. Within its context of production, the gauche dialogues with the development of Modernism and Post-Modernism. Through the transfiguration of the self, the poet stands before the world and its representations. This occurs through the aesthetics of gaucherie, which is potentiated in a different way to each phase of the author. It starts from the Modern irony and ends in the Contemporary pastiche. The irony is the resource that grounds the oblique look and presents the complexity of poetic matter. This research investigates the forms of Drummondian laughter vis-a-vis the globalized world and Post-modern society. The study methodology is based on the analysis of poems that show gauche variations, considering the obliquity of meanings as a central element of interpretation. To do so, the post-modernism approach, presented by Frederic Jameson (1985), is used as an artistic production that seeks the decentralization of concepts and dialogues with the consumer society, where Contemporary Poetry is installed. The selected works belong to Alguma Poesia and Brejo das Almas, when the initial figuration of the tortuous character appears; Rosa do Povo, whose social approach is problematized; Claro Enigma, Observador no escritório and Passeios na ilha, occurs the representation of the publicly introspective poet; and Lição de Coisas, in which the word appears as the main protagonist. Keywords: Gauche. Poetry. Post-modern. Contemporary.
