O imaginário noturno e solar na poesia de Sophia de Mellho Breyner Andresen

Abstract

Resumo: Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen estreou no cenário literário português na efervescência do nascimento do grupo intelectual que organizou os Cadernos de Poesia, em 1940, quando publicou seu primeiro poema. Ao lado de outros grandes nomes da poesia, como Jorge de Sena e Eugênio de Andrade, procurou escapar dos extremismos comumente associados aos simpatizantes da arte pura e da poesia social. Os Cadernos constituíram um importante espaço alternativo e ecumênico para os escritores que, como Sophia, buscavam a criação de uma ética aliada à uma estética e compartilhavam o desejo de autonomia e de liberdade criativa. Poesia, o primeiro livro publicado por Sophia, em 1944, anuncia alguns temas que percorrerão toda a sua obra, até a publicação de seu último livro O Búzio de Cós e Outros Poemas, em 1997: a relação íntima e sagrada com a natureza, especialmente com o mar, a praia, o jardim; a constatação de que a poesia é consubstancial ao universo, mas também é geometria arrancada do caos; a revelação de um mundo sublime porque é belo e terrível, feito de luz e de sombras, de presenças e de ausências. As imagens da noite e do sol atravessam toda a sua poética e desvelam ao mesmo tempo sua dimensão arquetípica e histórica. O imaginário, por meio de mitos e símbolos, promove uma aliança entre o passado imemorial e o presente. Nesse sentido, a presente tese tem como objetivo central a leitura e a análise das diversas imagens da noite e do sol, de seus símbolos e de seus mitos, presentes nos livros publicados por Sophia. Para análise elege-se o imaginário antropológico, conforme os estudos de Gilbert Durand, que vê na constelação de imagens criadas pelo homem uma tentativa de escapar ou eufemizar os poderes terríveis de Cronos. Abstract: Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen debuted in the Portuguese literary scene in the effervescence of the birth of the intellectual group that organized the "Cadernos de Poesia" in 1940, when she published her first poem. Together with other great names in poetry, such as Jorge de Sena and Eugênio de Andrade, Sophia sought to escape the extremisms commonly associated with sympathizers of pure art and social poetry. The Cadernos constituted an important alternative and ecumenical space for the writers who, like Sophia, searched for the creation of an ethic allied to an aesthetic and shared the desire for autonomy and creative freedom. "Poesia", the first book published by Sophia in 1944, announces some themes that will cover all his work, until the publication of his last book "O Búzio de Cós e Outros Poemas", in 1997: the intimate and sacred relationship with nature, especially with the sea, the beach and the garden; the realization that poetry is consubstantial with the universe, but it is also geometry extracted from chaos; the revelation of a sublime world because it is beautiful and terrible, made of light and shadows, of presence and absence. The images of the night and the sun go through all their poetics and unveil at the same time their archetypal and historical dimension. The imagination, through myths and symbols, promotes an alliance between the immemorial past and the present. In this sense, this research aims to analyze the various images of the night and the sun, their symbols and myths, which are present in the books published by Sophia. The anthropological imaginary was chosen to the analysis, according to the studies of Gilbert Durand, who sees in the constellation of images created by the man as an attempt to escape from the terrible powers of Cronos.
