Kizuna : a memória e tradição japonesa em Registro-SP. um livro reportagem

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho investiga o papel desempenhado pela memória na construção identitária da comunidade nipo-brasileira no Vale do Ribeira, no estado de São Paulo. Registro, conhecida como um dos principais polos da colônia japonesa no Brasil e vizinha de Iguape, berço da primeira colônia japonesa do país, compõe o cenário central desta pesquisa. O estudo busca compreender como as trajetórias dos imigrantes e seus descendentes, desde a chegada ao Brasil até os dias atuais, moldaram não apenas a história local, mas também o sentimento de pertencimento desta comunidade. Por meio de entrevistas, relatos pessoais e análise documental, pretende-se acessar memórias que evidenciam a preservação cultural, os processos de adaptação e os desafios enfrentados por essas famílias ao longo das gerações. Ao entrelaçar as narrativas individuais com o contexto histórico da imigração nipônica, o livro-reportagem se propõe a valorizar a diversidade cultural. Este trabalho fundamenta-se no jornalismo cultural, de memória e literário, destacando a importância de preservar essas vivências para a compreensão da formação identitária do Vale do Ribeira e para o fortalecimento da memória social da comunidade nipo-brasileira

Abstract: This paper investigates the role played by memory in the construction of the identity of the Japanese-Brazilian community in the Ribeira Valley, in the state of São Paulo. Registro, known as one of the main centers of the Japanese colony in Brazil and neighboring Iguape, the birthplace of the first Japanese colony in the country, is the central setting for this research. The study seeks to understand how the trajectories of immigrants and their descendants, from their arrival in Brazil to the present day, shaped not only local history, but also the sense of belonging of this community. Through interviews, personal accounts and documentary analysis, the aim is to access memories that demonstrate the cultural preservation, the processes of adaptation and the challenges faced by these families over the generations. By intertwining individual narratives with the historical context of Japanese immigration, the book-report aims to value cultural diversity. This work is based on cultural, memory and literary journalism, highlighting the importance of preserving these experiences for understanding the formation of the identity of the Ribeira Valley and for strengthening the social memory of the Japanese-Brazilian community
