Resumo : O presente trabalho tem como objetivo refletir sobre a representação do povo indígena, da mulher indígena e da violência contra ela, como parte do processo de colonização, dentro do cinema nacional no filme "Brava Gente Brasileira". O filme promove um olhar sobre o passado a partir de um fato histórico, mostrando contradições entre o que se idealizava para a colônia e os povos aqui presentes e a realidade encontrada pelos portugueses. A violência e a selvageria corroboram com essa contradição, pois a história de amor que se desenrola, no filme, começa com um estupro e termina marcada por mais atos de violência, de ambos os lados. Compreender que as diferenças culturais trazem estranhamentos em relação aos costumes e tradições do outro e refletir sobre a influência da visão eurocêntrica que ainda é predominante no encaminhamento do processo educativo manipulando leituras da história e determinando quem são seus protagonistas. Perceber a cultura como história, em constante transformação, e seus agentes como sujeitos ativos nesse processo. Trata-se de uma reflexão por meio de uma produção fílmica, trazendo à tona o choque cultural, e a percepção (ou não) sobre o Outro e sobre quem é o civilizado ou quem é o selvagem.Abstract : Abstract the present work aims to reflect on the representation of indigenous people, indigenous woman and violence against her, as part of the colonization process, within the national cinema in the film "Brava Gente Brasileira". The film promotes a glimpse intothe past from a historical fact, showing contradictions between what is envisioned for the colony and the people here and the reality encountered by the Portuguese. Violence and savagery corroborate with this contradiction, because the love story that unfolds in the film, begins with a rape and ends marked by more acts of violence on both sides. Understand that cultural differences bring barriers in relation to customs and traditions of another and reflect on the influence of Eurocentric vision that is still prevalent in the educational process manipulating history readings and determining who are its protagonists.. Understand the culture as history, in constant transformation, and its agents as subjects active in this process. It is a reflection by means of a film production, bringing to light the culture shock, and the perception (or not) about each other and about who is civilized or who's the wild.
