    Abstract

Abstract: The need for electricity production, combined with ecological appeal, has promoted the increasing inclusion of photovoltaic solar energy in Brazilian energy matrix as a replacing fossil fuels. However, while it brings renewable energy abundantly, it may also present negative points at the end of its useful life. It is crucial to analyze the future impacts of its components regarding the post-lifespan period, since the expected lifespan of a photovoltaic module is 25 to 30 years. In Brazil, this product is classified as electronic waste, and improper disposal could become a serious issue. This study analyzes aspects of the recycling of components and presents alternatives that minimize environmental impacts. It also proposes perspectives to improve the process, such as interdisciplinary integration and the establishment of regulations, as well as emphasizes the need to consider another perspective, such as the means of manufacturing and reverse logistics. These are essential factors to prevent the improper disposal of modules, which could compromise the sector's sustainability, requiring a strategic approach and efficient management
