Um diagnóstico da situação da fauna silvestre vitimada, destinada ao cativeiro doméstico no estado do Paraná

Abstract

Resumo : A presença de animais silvestres na vida dos seres humanos aumentou ao longo da história, e esses animais, que antes tinham outras funções em nossa sociedade, agora são comuns como animais de estimação. Infelizmente, essa presença acarreta problemas considerando os dados do comércio ilegal e das apreensões feitas pelos órgãos competentes. A impossibilidade de devolver esses animais à natureza cria uma demanda por destinação não suportada pelas instituições como zoológicos e mantenedores, o que resulta na destinação regular de animais vitimados para o cativeiro doméstico através do Termo de Guarda de Animais silvestres (TGAS). Anos após a implementação do TGAS pelo Instituto Água e Terra (IAT), pouco se sabe sobre as condições atuais dos animais. Portanto, este trabalho buscou coletar dados sobre os termos emitidos a fim de estabelecer contato com os tutores, para que fosse possível investigar se as condições estabelecidas pela Portaria IAP Nº 137/2016 estão sendo cumpridas. Um formulário, com 27 perguntas discursivas e objetivas, foi elaborado e enviado para os tutores, com o objetivo de levantar essas informações. A análise dos formulários respondidos revelou que, em alguns grupos, a alimentação oferecida e os recintos onde os animais são mantidos não estão em conformidade com as condições ideais. Outros aspectos, como bem estar, higiene e saúde, também foram avaliados, permitindo classificar as condições dos animais como adequadas, regulares ou inadequadas. Os resultados desse estudo ressaltam a necessidade de o IAT reforçar as orientações de manejo e cuidados dos animais destinados, além de melhorar a gestão das informações para que informações essenciais não sejam perdidas

Abstract : The presence of wild animals in the lives of human beings has increased throughout history and such animals, which once have had other roles in our society, are now commonly kept as pet animals. Unfortunately, this presence may lead to innumerous problems considering the collected data on illegal trade and seizures conducted by competent authorities. The unfeasibility of returning such animals to nature creates a demand for their allocation which is not adequately supported by institutions such as zoos and caretakers. Therefore, it results in the regular allocation of victimized animals into domestic captivity via the Custody agreement of wild animals. Years later the implementation of this custody agreement by the Instituto Água e Terra (IAT), little is known about the current conditions of the animals. Hence, this study has sought to collect data on the issued terms in order to establish contact with guardians which enables an investigation over whether the established conditions by Portaria IAP Nº 137/2016 are being complied with. A survey form, with 27 discursive and objective questions, has been developed and sent to the guardians for the sake of gathering such information. The analysis of the completed survey forms has revealed that, in some groups, the provided nutrition and the enclosures where the animals are kept do not meet the ideal conditions. Likewise, other aspects such as well-being, hygiene and health have been evaluated and allowed the classification of animals’ conditions as adequate, regular or inadequate. The results of this study highlight the urgency for IAT to reinforce guidelines over the management and care of the allocated animals in addition to improve information management to prevent essential information from becoming absent
