Perfil epidemiológico dos acidentes com animais peçonhentos no Estado do Paraná de 2007 a 2022

Abstract

Resumo : No Paraná, de 2007 a 2022 foram registrados no SINAN mais de 239 mil acidentes causados por animais peçonhentos. Este trabalho considerou o contexto de acidentes por animais peçonhentos no Paraná, e o risco de saúde pública que esses encontros de animais e humanos oportunizam. Considerando isso, este estudo propôs atualizar o perfil epidemiológico e mapear a distribuição dos acidentes com animais peçonhentos que ocorreram no Paraná de 2007 a 2022. Utilizando dados do SINAN, esta estudo descritivo analisou os dados de acidentes causados por aranhas, escorpiões, serpentes, lagartas e abelhas, considerando as variáveis independentes de raça/cor, faixa etária, sexo, tempo decorrido picada/atendimento e classificação do caso. Os resultados mostraram que a 2ª Regional de Saúde apresentou maior ocorrência de acidentes dentre as 22 regionais. O perfil da maioria dos acometidos são homens adultos entre 20 a 39 anos, de raça/cor branca. A maioria dos acidentes no estado ocorreu por araneísmo (60,5%), seguidos do escorpionismo (13,6%), acidentes por abelhas (9,1%), seguidos dos acidentes por serpentes (5,7%) e lagartas com (5,4%). O trabalho concluiu que o Paraná possui diferentes áreas de distribuição para cada tipo de acidente, identificando áreas de maior vulnerabilidade, sendo possível desenvolver estratégias preventivas para cada região do Estado

Abstract : In Paraná, from 2007 to 2022, more than 239,000 accidents caused by venomous animals were recorded in SINAN. This study considered the context of accidents involving venomous animals in Paraná and the public health risk that these encounters between animals and humans entail. With this in mind, the study aimed to update the epidemiological profile and map the distribution of accidents involving venomous animals that occurred in Paraná from 2007 to 2022. Utilizing data from SINAN, this descriptive study analyzed incidents caused by spiders, scorpions, snakes, caterpillars, and bees, considering independent variables such as race/ethnicity, age group, gender, time elapsed from bite to medical attention, and case classification. The results revealed that the 2nd Health Region exhibited a higher occurrence of accidents among the 22 regions in the state. The profile of the majority of those affected consisted of adult males aged 20 to 39, predominantly of white race/ethnicity. The majority of accidents in the state were attributed to spider bites (60.5%), followed by scorpion stings (13.6%), bee stings (9.1%), snake bites (5.7%), and caterpillar contact (5.4%). The study concluded that Paraná exhibits distinct distribution areas for each type of accident, identifying regions with higher vulnerability. This finding suggests the possibility of developing preventive strategies tailored to each region of the State
