Knowledge about digestive tract parasites in birds is important to ensure the health, well-being, and productivity of these species, especially under human care. This work was developed as part of the academic scholarship program's activity plan with the UFPR Institutional Extension Scholarship Program, linked to the Project "Know, Respect, and Produce Birds: Alternative Didactic Models in the Teaching-Learning Process." The aim was to describe the life cycles of the main parasites (Ascaridia spp.; Heterakis spp.; Capillaria spp.; Giardia psittaci and Eimeria spp.) that affect psittacine birds and their respective preventive measures in breeding management.
