This brochure is an alternative teaching material developed by students from the Animal Science Program at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) who are participating in the extension project "Knowing, Respecting, and Producing Birds: Didactic and Alternative Models in the Teaching-Learning Process," linked to the Introduction to Domestic Animal Anatomy course. The objective of this brochure was to describe, in a generalized manner, the incubation and hatching processes of psittacine eggs, discuss the differences between natural and artificial incubation, and mention some situations (temperature changes and egg positioning) that can interfere with embryonic development. It also covered the process of egg hatching and the types of egg laying (fixed and continuous) performed by cockatiels.
