Influência de mecanismos epigenéticos na predisposição ao transtorno do uso de álcool : uma revisão sistemática

Abstract

Resumo : A dependência ao álcool é uma doença crônica e multifatorial, sendo considerada um dos transtornos mentais mais comuns no mundo, sua dependência ocorre devido a interação entre a predisposição herdada (por meio de fatores genéticos) e o ambiente, o qual pode acarretar mudanças epigenéticas. A partir disto, este trabalho buscou mapear e apresentar as descobertas sobre a epigenética e o transtorno do uso do álcool (AUD) até o momento. Para tanto realizamos uma Revisão Sistemática (RS), buscando os artigos publicados entre os anos de 1970 e 2023 no Google Acadêmico e Portal CAPES, foi realizada a análise de conteúdo dos dados encontrados, o que nos permitiu obter uma visão ampla sobre o assunto. Devido ao consumo excessivo do álcool influenciar diversos âmbitos, sistematizamos os resultados em: ênfase social e ênfase cientifica. Notou-se que no campo da pesquisa as tecnologias de laboratório ainda precisam ser melhoradas por meio de métodos mais eficientes e satisfatórios para que os resultados sejam mais robustos e esclarecedores e, no âmbito social, uma visão mais profunda da regulação epigenética da dependência, abstinência e recaída do álcool é necessária para desenvolver melhores estratégias de tratamento e prevenção para tal doença. Concluímos então, que se deve ter em mente que os estudos que investigam a epigenética da abstinência são atualmente muito limitados, portanto, as conclusões devem ser tiradas com cautela

Abstract : Alcohol dependence is a chronic and multifactorial disease, considered one of the most common mental disorders in the world. Its dependency occurs due to the interaction between inherited predisposition (through genetic factors) and the environment, a relationship we call epigenetics. Based on this, this study aimed to map and present the findings on epigenetics and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) up to the present moment. To do so, we conducted a Systematic Review (SR), searching for articles published between 1970 and 2023 in Google Scholar and CAPES Portal. The content analysis of the data found was performed, allowing us to obtain a broad overview of the subject. Due to the influence of excessive alcohol consumption in various aspects, we systematized the results into social emphasis and scientific emphasis. It was noted that in the field of research, laboratory technologies still need to be improved through more efficient and satisfactory methods in order to produce more robust and elucidating results. In the social realm, a deeper understanding of the epigenetic regulation of alcohol dependence, withdrawal, and relapse is necessary to develop better treatment and prevention strategies for this disease. Therefore, we conclude that it is important to bear in mind that studies investigating the epigenetics of abstinence are currently very limited, and thus, conclusions must be drawn with caution
