How are the São Paulo state governments Gender policies impacting SDG 5?

Abstract

The Research Group on Gender and International Relations of the University of São Paulo (MaRIas) and the Bertha Lutz International Analysis Laboratory (LAI) carried out a mapping of public gender policies of the Government of the State of São Paulo under the scope of a Cooperation project Technique with the Government. During 6 months, meetings were held involving 15 researchers from the area of ​​International Relations and Political Science, 7 at undergraduate level, 1 at master's level and 7 at doctoral level, being supervised by Prof. Janina Onuki. The main objectives were: (1) to gather general information and data about the secretariat; (2) describe the main initiatives, programs, policies and/or sub-areas that contemplate some specific or at least indirect guideline on the gender issue; (3) understand how the Secretariat contributed to the achievement of SDG 5; (4) what were the “missed opportunities”.
