University extension for climate adaptation in Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil
Resumo
This paper discusses the insertion of climate change topics in the university extension services by the Graduate Program in Regional Development and the Public Management Center of the Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul. We seek to contribute to the discussion about the role of higher education institutions towards regional resilience within SDG 13. It constitutes a primer in the analysis of this experience, addressing concerns with climate change as expressed by stakeholders interviewed on the drivers for adaption initiatives in the region, as well as in a series of interviews with farmers and local officials on the perception of droughts along 2021
