As trabalhadoras estudantes do curso de pedagogia, expectativas e desafios

Abstract

Resumo : Este trabalho apresenta uma pesquisa realizada com acadêmicas do curso de Pedagogia da Universidade Federal do Paraná que ingressaram em 2013 com pretensão de se formar em 2017. O objetivo foi investigar o processo da formação universitária, indagando quais são as condições de estudo, os obstáculos, as expectativas e as frustrações das alunas, muitas delas trabalhadoras-estudantes que, por uma condição de gênero, se ocupam ainda de boa parte do trabalho doméstico, enfrentando diariamente uma tríplice jornada. Foi primeiramente realizada uma revisão de literatura para constituir o referencial teórico, revisando a literatura disponível sobre a relação estudo-trabalho no contexto da expansão da educação superior e sobre a condição específica de estudantes mulheres. Na sequência foi realizada uma pesquisa de caráter quantitativo e qualitativo. Foram utilizados dados levantados pelo Núcleo de Concursos da UFPR no momento do vestibular, que retratam o perfil da turma no início do curso. Para captar as mudanças no final do curso, foi aplicado um questionário com as alunas concluintes do 5o ano, com uma taxa de resposta de 57%. A comparação de ambas as fontes de dados permitiu traçar o perfil dessas alunas e observar os problemas enfrentados ao longo da trajetória acadêmica por estudantes mulheres, trabalhadoras e que possuem tarefas do lar para cumprir, algumas delas mães. Tratam-se de estudantes que com frequência enfrentam uma tríplice jornada. Foi constatada a importância que tanto a educação como o trabalho têm na vida das estudantes, assim como o apoio familiar, para continuarem os estudos. Embora a universidade não se mostre totalmente adequada às condições de estudo das trabalhadoras-estudantes, e metade das concluintes tenha pensado em desistir em algum momento, as alunas têm, em geral, uma percepção positiva da universidade.

Abstract : This paper presents a research conducted with female students of Pedagogy at Federal University of Paraná, who entered in the year of 2013 with intention to graduate in 2017. The goal was to investigate the process of higher education at the university, asking what are the conditions, obstacles, expectations and frustrations of the students, many of them workers-students who, for a condition of gender, deal with most of the domestic work, facing a triple daily journey. At first, a literature review has been done, to establish the theoretical reference, reviewing the available literature on the relationship study-work in the context of the expansion of higher education and on the specific condition of women students. After that, a quantitative and qualitative research has been conducted. We used data collected from the Exam Center of UFPR at the time of the admission exam, which portraits the profile of the class at the beginning of the course. In order to understand the changes at the end of the course, was applied a questionnaire to the graduating students of the 5th grade, with a response rate of 57%. The comparison of both data sources allowed to profile these students and observe the problems faced along the academic course by students, workers and women who have home tasks to do, some of them mothers. These are students who often face a triple journey. It has been noted the importance that both the education and the work have in the lives of students, as well as the family support, to continue his studies. Although the university is not totally suited to the conditions of the workerstudents, and half of the themhave thought about quitting at some point, the students have in general a positive perception of the University.
