A forma arquitetônica será apresentada a partir de relações matemáticas envolvendo funções do 1º grau, funções do 2º grau, funções trigonométricas, funções exponenciais e funções logarítmicas.
Abstract: The teaching practice in various disciplines related to the field of civil construction technology in undergraduate courses highlights the difficulties that exist among a portion of students regarding the application of mathematical operations in these subjects. Mathematical education is not a requirement for their graduation, as it is assumed that university students have already received sufficient mathematical training in earlier stages of education (Elementary and High School). However, in practice, it is observed that this is not the reality for a significant number of students - difficulties in using these concepts are common, and these difficulties can result in obstacles to their academic and professional performance. This material aims to present a set of lessons developed with the intention of reintroducing mathematical concepts from Elementary and High School to undergraduate students in Architecture and Urbanism and applying them in a contextualized manner to their field of study. It is a tool that seeks to demonstrate the presence of Mathematics in architectural forms and highlight relationships that can help understand this connection. Architectural form will be presented through mathematical relationships involving linear functions, quadratic functions, trigonometric functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions. Students will be encouraged to understand, reproduce, and construct forms both manually and using digital resources. The initial goal is to retrieve mathematical concepts and then, taking advantage of the high educational potential offered by information and communication technologies, combine the presentation and analysis of mathematical concepts with digital resources to enhance the learning opportunities. Here, a sequence of four lessons or four sessions is presented, identifying the main details of each session, the related activities, and the expected results from their development. Finally, concluding remarks are presented, highlighting the positive aspects of assembling this set of lessons and discussing possible contributions that this material can offer to the academic
community in Architecture and Urbanism courses.
