Abstract : The present work concerns about a literaly revision about the political participation and, mainly, about the political reaction of evangelical groups, in particular, of Pentecostals and Neopentecostals, in relation to the secular state in Brazil. Thus, it focuses on the role of evangelical groups on issues related to state secularism, both in the context of state neutrality in religious matters, the autonomy of politics and civil society in particular religious and philosophical norms, and in the context of discriminatory treatment of other groups, in general minority groups, that after the redemocratization of the country, occupy, alongside the evangelicals, spaces in the struggle for the recognition of their civil rights. The period covered begins at the Constituent Assembly in 1987-88, with an unprecedented formation of an evangelical group in Congress, and goes until the present day, with the formation, in 2003, of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front (FPE), which was made official in 2014, demonstrating the expansion and resurgence of this political force that has been at stake as a defender of Christian morality and values, introducing controversial bills that clash with us principles of state secularity, as well as electing opponents to be fought, including feminist and LGBT groups.
