Estado de extinção : ensaio sobre especismo e biopolítica

Abstract

Resumo: Este ensaio visa, no entrecruzamento da arqueologia agambeniana e da etnologia lévi-straussiana, passar em revista, numa espécie de etno-arqueologia, a monstruosa estrutura de morte que é - que parece ser - a política ocidental. Se é correto que a exceção convertida em regra, o "estado de exceção", como possibilidade sempre presente desde os primórdios do pensamento político ocidental, constitui um dos traços principais da época em que vivemos, resta ainda, contudo, diante do atual problema da extinção, interrogar se não haveria, entre este e aquele, alguma relação, em todos os sentidos decisiva. Pois se Giorgio Agamben pode sustentar que a política ocidental se funda por uma "exclusão-inclusiva da vida humana sob a forma da vida nua", talvez não seja menos correto sustentar, levando em consideração o modo como outros povos se relacionam com os demais viventes, que ela se funda, igualmente, por uma exclusão do não-humano do espaço constituído da pólis. Revendo tal estrutura originária da política desde esse ponto de vista, pretende-se sugerir, ao final deste ensaio, que muito mais do que um estado de exceção, todos os viventes da terra - sem reserva - estão expostos, hoje, a uma espécie de estado de extinção. Abstract: This essay aims, in the intertwining of agambian archeology and levi-straussian etonology, to review, in a kind of ethno-archeology, the monstrous structure of death which is - it seems to be - Western politics. If it is correct to say that the exception made as a rule, the "state of exception", as a possibility always present from the beginnings of Western political thought, is one of the main features of our time, it still, however, in the face of the present problem of extinction, to question whether there would be between them some complicity in every way decisive. Because, if Giorgio Agamben can vindicate that Western politics is based on an "exclusion-inclusive of human life in the form of naked life", it may be no less correct to sustain, taking into account how other folks relate to other living things, that it is also founded by an exclusion of the non-human from the space constituted of the polis. Reviewing the original structure of Western politcy from this point of view, it is intended to suggest at the end of this essay that far more than a state of exception all the living beings of the earth - without any reservation - are today exposed to a kind of state of extinction.
