    Abstract
    Resumo: A carreira docente é um indicador de valorização do magistério público. Em Curitiba, que teve sua Rede Municipal de Ensino estruturada a partir de 1963, muitas foram as lutas políticas em torno do tema. Para abordá-lo, neste trabalho, fez-se primeiramente uma pesquisa histórica, nos limites da premência deste estudo, da legislação e dos embates nacionais, desde o Brasil Colônia até nossos dias. Depois se fez um levantamento das principais legislações que disciplinaram a carreira produzida a partir 1958, data do primeiro Estatuto do Servidor Municipal. Neste levantamento deu-se destaque ao Estatuto do Magistério, lei 6.761/85, conhecida como Estatuto Azul. Esta lei foi aprovada dentro do espírito de redemocratização nacional. A maior mudança foi o pagamento pela maior habilitação, direito retirado pela administração Lerner em 1991. Outro destaque foi a lei 10.190/01, Plano de Carreira em vigor no município. Em seguida fez-se, dentro do estudo de caso, um perfil dos profissionais do magistério público de Curitiba. Neste estudo considerou- se os estabelecimentos em que atuavam e quais funções desenvolviam. A seguir passou-se a trabalhar os indicadores que possam contribuir para a qualidade da carreira docente.
     
    Abstract: The teacher's career is a sign of the appreciation of the public teaching. Curitiba, whose Municipal Teaching Net is structured since 1963, was the stage of many political struggle around that subject. In order to approach it in this paper, first of all, a historical research was made inside the limits of the urgency of this study, legislation and national discussions, from Colonial Brazil until our present day. Then, a survey was made about the major legislations that disciplined the career founded since 1956, year of the first Statute of the Municipal Employee. In that survey a larger attention was given to Statute of Teaching, law 6. 761/85, known as Blue Statute. That law was approved inside the spirit of national redemocratization. The major change was the payment for the biggest habilitation, a right that was taken of by the Lerner administration at 1991. Another distinguished law was that of 10.190/01, Career Planning, still functioning today in the city. Right after, inside the case study, a profile of the public teaching professionals of Curitiba was made. In this study, the establishments in which they work and the functions they develop were taken into consideration. Then, one started to work with the signs that could contribute to the teaching career quality.
