Resumo : A prática do Turismo carrega representações sociais, culturais e econômicas. Abstract : The practice of tourism carries social, cultural and economic representations. By understanding the potential of tourism as a tool to contribute to the provision of jobs and opportunities for women, one realizes the importance of understanding gender issues and their challenges in the workday. Thus, the importance of this project is justified by the evolution of women's participation and the current progress of their insertion in the hotel work market, which result in a confrontation with female specificities and conventional patriarchal conceptions. Thus, the present Tourism Planning and Management Project (PPGT) has the general objective of proposing the creation of an accessible course on female leadership in the hotel industry, based on the reports of general managers of hotels in the Curitiba chain. In order to achieve the proposed general objective, the following specific objectives were considered: a) Describe the role of women in positions in the Hotel Industry; b) Discuss the job market in Tourism and Hospitality, considering gender issues; and c) Investigate female participation in the highest positions in the Hotelaria Curitibana de Rede. For that, a research with a qualitative approach was carried out, divided into two stages: descriptive and exploratory. Descriptive analysis was used in order to structure a theoretical framework that addresses gender issues in the labor market, as well as the hotel organizational structure. In turn, the exploratory approach was carried out through interviews with 5 general managers of large hotel chains in Curitiba. There search results indicate that women are increasingly conquering their space, even though there are many necessary transformations in the marketing environment, since this rise, in Brazil, occurs through barriers that come from a patriarchal society. Based on these results, it is possible to conclude the general objective of the research and develop a course marketed by the Udemy platform, whose purpose is to disseminate knowledge that can contribute to the performance of women in the hotel market, so that from the moment the woman completes classes, she feels better prepared and willing to deal with the usual situations in the hotel industry, identified throughout there search. In addition to this study, future research on the subject is suggested in order to analyze the other angle, in the view of man, in order to compare it with this work. Another suggestion encompasses the continuity of this research throughout Brazilian territory, with a larger dimension and more assertive comparative possibilities within the hotel industry.
