Abstract: The vaccination coverage among children is an important indicator of the health of a population and reflects the social conditions of its community. In an Basic Health Unity (BHU) of the present study, the vaccination coverage rate in 2019 was 63%, within 55% among children less than a year old, taxes below the national, region and state indices. The vulnerability and the misinformation, especially by the digital medias, has pointed out the crucial role played by the Primary Health Care Providers to change these numbers, despite the local adversity. Increasing the vaccination coverage among children assisted by the Health Care Providers was the objective of this intervention project. Informative actions in the waiting rooms, mother's orientation on prenatal and childcare consultation and active search by Community Health Agents (CHA) in territorializations was the methodology of choice. However, face the covid-19 pandemic, the intervention prospect has been changed and the main actions were the active search and the orientation at the consultation, alongside the truck of vaccination, an important measure taken by the city's health administration. On the last Friday of every month, the truck visited the BHU. Therefore, contrary the decrease of national, region and state's vaccination coverage, among the children assisted on BHU, in 2020, the rate was 90,5%. Considering children less than a year old, there was an increase of 75% compared to the year before, 96,5% of the children were vaccinated. Even though the actions to increase the vaccination have been limited to practically the active search by the CHA, since the other actions happened occasionally or not. On the other hand, the Primary Health Care Providers' orientation has shown to be remarkably effective to improve this indicator.
