A areia grossa influenciou diretamente no crescimento do Pinus taeda (r = - 0,75). Abstract: The slopes of watershed present heterogeneity of soil characteristics, soil moisture and vegetation growth. For Pinus taeda population, the studies indicate that soil moisture are positively related to growth, but also that the excess of soil moisture may be a limiting factor. In addition, the soil physico-hydrical properties also influence the growth of this species. In this context, the present research aimed to analyze the spatial-temporal dynamics of soil moisture and its joint influence with the soil physicohydrical properties in the growth of the Pinus taeda population in the Saci River Watershed (0.104 km²), in Rio Negrinho - SC. To this end, a digital vegetation model (DVM) was generated that presents the spatial distribution of the height of vegetation (through a survey with UAV), field work for the survey of the soil physico-hydrical properties, estimate of vegetation trunk volume and measurements of soil moisture with TDR probe in a 13-point transect. In addition, monitoring of hydrological and meteorological processes, modeling of soil moisture dynamics and its spatial distribution with the TOPOG-IRM was carried out. The results of the DVM and the accumulated trunk volume showed that the growth of Pinus taeda presents high spatial heterogeneity. The coarse sand directly influenced the growth of Pinus taeda (r = - 0.75). In a smaller proportion, microporosity (Mi) showed a positive correlation (r = 0.53) and macroporosity (Ma) a negative correlation (r = - 0.58). The space-time dynamics of soil moisture was simulated from 2013 to 2018, where the calibration of TOPOG-IRM resulted in a 0.74 COE and 0.79 R², analyzing the observed and simulated runoff. The spatial distribution of the simulated saturated areas ranged from 0.22% to 64.30% of the total area. The comparison of the simulated soil moisture with the TDR probe data resulted in an 0.63 R², and indicated that the TOPOG-IRM adequately simulated the internal hydrologic dynamics of the watershed in a distributed manner. By correlating the accumulated trunk volume of the Pinus taeda, with the time that the soil moisture remained within the limits of Mi e Ma, it was observed that the greater growth of the Pinus taeda is associated with the ideal range (range of greater growth) of permanence in the time of soil moisture varying between the limits of Mi and Ma. The ideal range was composed by the points P06 and P02 of the transect, which were the points with the highest accumulated trunk volumes (0.110 m³ and 0.108 m³, respectively) and presented permanence in time of 45.32% and 61.69% with the soil moisture within the limit of Mi and 54.68% and 38.31% of the time within the limit of Ma, respectively. The other 11 points of the transect that were outside the ideal range of Pinus growth, presented unbalanced permanences in time, where the soil moisture remained for longer time close to the saturation of the soil and field capacity. In this way, the excess soil moisture influenced negatively the Pinus taeda growth. From this, it was concluded that soil moisture was beneficial for the growth of Pinus taeda, until the moment when its excess began to cause imbalance and problems in vegetation growth.
