Dificuldades no uso da metodologia Objectives and Key results em startups Curitibanas

Abstract

Resumo : Esta monografia tem como tema as dificuldades encontradas por startups curitibanas no uso da metodologia de gestão de metas Objectives and Key Results. O objetivo do presente trabalho é identificar dificuldades comuns enfrentadas por startups de Curitiba, além de comparar o uso prático da metodologia com a teoria de autores renomados no tema. Para isso, foi realizado um Estudo de Caso, por meio de uma entrevista de natureza aplicada e qualitativa, com perguntas abertas. Foram entrevistadas cinco empresas diferentes, buscando entender como se dá o uso da metodologia OKRs e quais são suas principais dificuldades encontradas. Além disso, foram definidas quatro hipóteses para comparação posterior com os resultados. O estudo identificou que as principais dificuldades das empresas estão relacionadas com dois pontos principais. O primeiro, dificuldades em que os OKRs meçam resultados, e não só controlem quais esforços estão sendo despendidos. O segundo, dificuldades em realizar um acompanhamento ágil e transparente. Os resultados corroboram em partes com as hipóteses definidas, além de gerarem novas hipóteses

Abstract : This article’s goal is to identify the common obstacles found with the use of the Objective and Key Results metodology - faced by startups based in Curitiba - on top of making a comparison between the practial use of the framework and the theoretical contributions made by renowend authors. These goals were explored through a Case Study, characarterized as an Applied Qualitative Research study, by conducting interviews with open-ended questions. The subjects were five different companies. Furthermore, four hypothesis were defined for later comparison with the results. The study found out that the main troubles were related mostly to two reasons. The first one being to set OKRs that measure results, not only the efforts made. The second one, to keep up with the OKRs’ progress in an agile and transparent way. The final results partially corroborate the defined hypotheses, on top of generating new hypothesis
