Teleologia e escatologia : os limites da razão em Kant e Lovecraft

Abstract

Resumo: Essa pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar os fins do gênero humano na filosofia de Kant a partir da noção de teleologia da natureza, tomando-a como sustentáculo para uma ideia escatológica para o gênero humano, e em como estas duas noções se ancoram em uma "ampliação" dos limites da razão permitida pela sua autorreflexão, atendendo às necessidades de sua natureza arquitetônica, prevendo a conjugação de todos os campos do conhecimento em um todo sistematizado resultando, por fim, em uma concepção de excepcionalidade do humano, excepcionalidade esta propiciada por uma visão teleológica da natureza. Como contraponto à obra kantiana, mas partindo desse mesmo princípio dos limites da razão, porém na sua violação, especificamente, traremos ao debate a obra ficcional-mitológica de H.P. Lovecraft que, por uma transgressão dos limites da razão – propomos – resulta no contrário do que previa a filosofia kantiana, isto é, a deposição do humano na hierarquia do cosmos, ou seja, em uma contrateleologia. A obra de Lovecraft poderia, assim, ilustrar o que se anuncia após a real transgressão dos limites da razão kantiana?

Abstract: This research aims to investigate the ends of the human race, based on Kant's philosophy, attempting to investigate the notion of teleology of nature as backing for an eschatological idea for the human race, and how these two notions are anchored in an "expansion" of the limits of reason allowed by its self-reflection, meeting the needs of its architectural nature, providing for the combination of all fields of knowledge into a systematized whole resulting, finally, in a conception of human exceptionality, provided by a teleological vision of nature. As a counterpoint to the Kantian work, but starting from this same principle of the limits of reason, but in its violation, specifically, we will bring to the debate the fictional-mythological work of H.P. Lovecraft which, through a transgression of the limits of reason – we propose – results in the opposite of which predicted Kantian philosophy, that is, the deposition of the human in the hierarchy of the cosmos, that is, in a counter-teleology. Could Lovecraft's work, therefore, illustrate what is announced after the real transgression of the limits of the kantian reason?
