Ilustração, moda e sociedade : um estudo sobre

Abstract

Resumo: No Rio de Janeiro, Alceu Penna proporcionou o encontro entre arte, moda e sociedade ao criar suas Garotas, na revista "O Cruzeiro", representações da figura da jovem carioca e seu estilo de vida. Na década de 1950, período aqui analisado, o mundo da moda transformava-se, assim como o papel da mulher, na mídia e na sociedade. Ao longo dessa pesquisa buscamos responder às seguintes inquietações: como Alceu Penna se expressava criativamente em suas criações? Como a ilustração de moda pode representar a imagem da mulher? De que modo as ilustrações de Alceu Penna refletiram socialmente a juventude brasileira da época? Que movimentos, artistas ou cenários socioculturais influenciaram a produção de Alceu? Buscamos respostas para estas perguntas fazendo uso da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental a partir da metodologia de pesquisa de Severino (2007), embasadas nas pesquisas de teóricos da Arte e da Moda como Dondis (1997) e Lipovetsky ([1987] 2009), e na constituição de um Estado de Arte composto por artigos sobre o artista, ilustrador e estilista Alceu Penna. A biografia do artista, a questão da figura feminina nas vias midiáticas da década de 50 e a análise de ilustrações e fotografias da época compõem o corpus do processo desta investigação, habitando o campo artístico, cultural e social.

Abstract: In Rio de Janeiro, Alceu Penna provided the encounter between art, fashion and society by creating his Garotas, at the magazine "O Cruzeiro", represantations on the figure of the young woman from Rio and her lifestyle. In the 1950’s decade, time period here analized, the fashion world was changing, as well as the role of women, in the media and in society. Throughout this research, we looked for answers to the following questions: How did Alceu express himself creatively in his creations? How can fashion illustration represent a woman’s image? In which way did Alceu Penna’s illustrations reflect socially Brazil’s youth at the time? Which movements, artists, or sociocultural scenes had influence on Alceu’s work? We looked for answers to these questions by through bibliographical and documental research, using the research methods of Severino (2007), based on researches of Fashion and Art theoricals like Dondis (1997) and Lipovetsky ([1987] 2009), and on the constitution of a State of Art, filled by articles about the artist, illustrator and stylist Alceu Penna. The artist’s biographie, the matter of the feminine figure in media pathways though the 50’s decade and the analysis of illustrations and photographies of the time composse the corpus of the process of this investigation, inhabiting the artistic, cultural and social field
