Estilo parental e comportamento socialmente habilidoso da criança com pares

Abstract

Resumo: A conduta dos pais com relação a seus filhos tem sido tema de grande discussão e preocupação. O estilo parental, que abrange a postura educacional dos pais, pode estar relacionado a comportamentos anti-sociais por parte dos filhos, mas também pode se apresentar como um caminho para a prevenção dos mesmos. Assim há um questionamento por parte dos pais e profissionais da área, sobre a forma mais apropriada de educação da criança. Questiona-se também se as condutas da criança podem estar relacionadas ao estilo parental de seus pais. O presente trabalho procurou investigar se há relação entre estilo parental dos pais e comportamentos socialmente habilidosos da criança em relação a seus pares. Os estilos parentais foram agrupados no estudo em: autoritativo, autoritário, indulgente e negligente. Utilizou-se também o termo "misto" para apontar uma mistura de estilos parentais em uma mesma mãe. A pesquisa foi realizada em uma escola particular, na cidade de Curitiba, com 13 crianças de uma das turmas de Jardim II desta instituição e suas mães. Os instrumentos utilizados foram questionários e entrevistas às mães, observação das crianças, e entrevistas com a professora. A análise e cruzamento dos dados mostrou existir relação entre o estilo parental autoritativo e comportamento pró-social por parte da criança em 6/13. Mostrou também existir relação entre a inconsistência parental e condutas de isolamento e anti-sociais da criança em 5/13. Considerando o número restrito da amostra (n=13), os achados da presente pesquisa não devem ser generalizados para a população em geral, mas podem constituir dados a serem agrupados a outros estudos da mesma natureza.

Abstract: The parents' behavior in relation to their children has been the subject of great discussion and preoccupation. The parental style, which consists of the parents' educational posture, may be related to anti-social behaviors of the children, but also it may be presented as a way of preventing them. Thus, there is a questioning of the parents and professionals of the area about the most appropriate way of educating a child. There is also a questioning if the child's behaviors may be related to the parents' parental style. The aim of this work was to investigate if there is a relation between the parents' parental style and the skilled behaviors of the child in relation to their pairs. The parental styles were grouped according to authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent and negligent. The term "mixed" was also used to show the mixture of parental styles in the same mother. The research took place in a private school in the city of Curitiba, with 13 children from one of the classes of Kindergarten II from this institution and their mothers. The applied instruments were questionnaires and interviews with the mothers, observation of the children and interviews with the teacher. The analysis and the crossing of data showed that there is a relation between authoritative parental style and pro-social behavior of the child in 6/13. It was also showed that there is a relation between the parental inconsistency, isolation and anti-social behaviors of the child in 5/13. Considering the limited number of the sample (n=13), the findings of this current research can't be generalized to the population in general, but they can constitute data to be grouped to other researches from the same nature.
