Os impactos da pandemia de Covid-19 na subjetividade de sacerdotes católicos da Arquidiocese de São Paulo : uma compreensão junguiana

Abstract

Resumo: Ao realizar o levantamento de pesquisas concluídas entre 2019-2022 acerca da saúde mental dos sacerdotes durante a pandemia de Covid-19, em bases de dados como Springer Link, Capes, Francis & Taylor Online e Scopus, foi possível identificar a ausência de estudos relacionados àquela temática que tinham por viés teórico a psicologia analítica e considerassem as vivências subjetivas dos sacerdotes em território nacional. Desse modo, a presente pesquisa, por ser configurada como qualitativa e exploratória, buscou investigar o impacto da pandemia de Covid-19 na subjetividade dos sacerdotes católicos pertencentes à Arquidiocese de São Paulo, através de 04 entrevistas individuais semiestruturadas. Os dados coletados foram transcritos, organizados e analisado segundo o conteúdo temático que emergiu durante as entrevistas, tendo como enfoque teórico a psicologia analítica. Assim, foi possível investigar e descrever os seguintes temas: o impacto do isolamento social e a vivência da espiritualidade durante o período pandêmico. A temática do isolamento social foi associada à integração da persona e da sombra no sacerdócio, resultando em processos adaptativos tanto para as demandas internas como para as demandas externas. A vivência da espiritualidade, por sua vez, se relacionou à compreensão do processo de individuação dos sacerdotes durante a pandemia, o que resultou em modificações na espiritualidade dos participantes, bem como aumento do autocuidado e proximidade consigo. Por fim, esta pesquisa teve como contribuição a investigação e análise das demandas psíquicas sacerdotais após a pandemia e o incentivo para estudos que aprofundem o tema e que contribuam para novas perspectivas da abordagem clínica junguiana frente a esta população.

Abstract: By carrying out a survey of research completed between 2019-2022 on the mental health of priests during the Covid-19 pandemic, in databases such as Springer Link, Capes, Francis & Taylor Online and Scopus, it was possible to identify the absence of studies related to that theme that had analytical psychology as a theoretical bias and considered the subjective experiences of priests in the national territory. Thus, the present research, as it is configured as qualitative and exploratory, sought to investigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the subjectivity of Catholic priests belonging to the Archdiocese of São Paulo, through 04 semi-structured individual interviews. The collected data were transcribed, organized and analyzed according to the thematic content that emerged during the interviews, with a theoretical focus on analytical psychology. Thus, it was possible to investigate and describe the following themes: the impact of social isolation and the experience of spirituality during the pandemic period. The theme of social isolation was associated with the integration of the persona and the shadow in the priesthood, resulting in adaptive processes for both internal and external demands. The experience of spirituality, in turn, was related to the understanding of the process of individuation of priests during the pandemic, which resulted in changes in the spirituality of the participants, as well as increased self-care and closeness to themselves. Finally, this research contributed to the investigation and analysis of priestly psychic demands after the pandemic and the encouragement of studies that deepen the theme and contribute to new perspectives of the Jungian clinical approach to this population.
