De 1997 ao infinito : uma história do emo brasileiro em meio à indústria cultural

Abstract

Resumo : O movimento emo começou pequeno no final da década de 1980 e conquistou fãs que o fizeram ganhar força na década seguinte. O emo foi ganhando mais espaço numa cena emergente e chamando a atenção do mercado musical. Mas por mais relevante que tenha sido, poucos estudos tiveram como seu objeto o movimento emo. Este estudo busca discutir como o emo se desenvolveu no Brasil desde seu início até os dias atuais e como a relação com a indústria cultural interferiu nas características do movimento. Para tal, pretende traçar um panorama histórico analisando músicas identificadas como pertencentes ao movimento emo para analisar as suas características e a relação que o emo teve com a indústria cultural ao longo dos anos

Abstract : The emo movement started small in the late 1980s and gained fans that made it stronger in the following decade. Emo was gaining more space in an emerging scene and catching the attention of the music business. But as relevant as it has been, only a few studies have focused on the emo movement. This study aims to discuss how emo was developed in Brazil from its beginning to the present day and how the relationship with the culture industry interfered with the characteristics of the movement. To this end, it intends to draw a historical panorama analyzing songs identified as belonging to the emo movement to analyze their characteristics and the relationship that emo had with the culture industry over the years
