Quem é e o que diz o público : uma análise da participação do telespectador por meio do WhatsApp em um telejornal catarinense

Abstract

Resumo: Esta pesquisa de mestrado em Comunicação é um estudo de recepção com objetivo de analisar a participação do público do Balanço Geral Joinville (SC), por meio do WhatsApp. Esse modo de participação ocorre há cerca de dez anos, e procuramos investigar a forma como se estabelece a relação entre público e emissora de TV, além dos motivos que incentivam a participação. O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi entender o que leva o telespectador a opinar diariamente, pelo WhatsApp, durante o Balanço Geral Joinville e investigar a relação desenvolvida em um ambiente de comunicação local/regional. Ao identificar, cadastrar e interpretar esses dados, conseguimos apontar quais são as motivações e consequentemente a relação que se constrói nesse processo. Para fazer esta análise, utilizamos múltiplos métodos para a coleta de dados, como formulário eletrônico e grupo de discussão on-line e presencial. Desta forma, estabelecemos contato, em um primeiro momento, com 26 telespectadores que responderam ao formulário eletrônico e finalizamos a pesquisa com a participação de oito telespectadores que integraram o grupo de discussão, sendo que todos eles participam do telejornal por meio do WhatsApp. Como principal operador metodológico, tivemos Jesús Martín- Barbero. O quarto mapa proposto pelo autor é uma ferramenta para análise de processos comunicacionais em um contexto de avanços tecnológicos na contemporaneidade. Coutinho, Finger, Peruzzo e Emerim auxiliam nas definições de jornalismo local e regional e a sua aplicabilidade na televisão nos dias de hoje. Outros conceitos fundamentais para esta pesquisa, como participação, interação e interatividade também são discutidos à luz do que propõem autores como Lemos e Cajazeira. Entre os resultados encontrados com a pesquisa, é possível afirmar que o público reconhece na figura do jornalista a competência para identificar o que é ou não relevante para exibição. Além disso, constatamos que o sentimento de pertencimento àquele espaço vem antes do início das participações e que os temas que mais geram interação são aqueles que proporcionam discussões sobre a cidade ou que fazem parte do cotidiano daquele grupo de participantes. Apontamos como ainda superficial tanto o discurso do público a respeito desses temas, quanto a abordagem feita pelo jornalismo.

Abstract: This master's research in Communication is a reception study with the objective of analyzing the participation of the public in Balanço Geral Joinville (SC), through WhatsApp. This mode of participation has been taking place for about ten years, and we seek to investigate how the relationship between the public and the TV station is established, in addition to the stimuli that encourage participation. The general objective of the research was to understand what leads the viewer to give an opinion daily, through WhatsApp, during the Joinville General Balance and to investigate the relationship developed in a local/regional communication environment. By identifying, registering and interpreting these stimuli, we were able to point out what the motivations are and consequently the relationship that is built in this process. To carry out this analysis, we used multiple methods for data collection, such as an electronic form and online and face-to-face discussion groups. In this way, we established contact, at first, with 26 viewers who responded to the electronic form and finalized the research with the participation of eight viewers who were part of the discussion group, all of whom participate in the newscast through WhatsApp. As the main methodological operator, we had Jesús Martín-Barbero. The fourth map proposed by the author is a tool for analyzing communicational processes in a context of technological advances in contemporary times. Coutinho, Finger, Peruzzo and Emerim help define local and regional journalism and its applicability on television today. Other fundamental concepts for this research, such as participation, interaction and interactivity are also discussed in the light of what authors such as Lemos and Cajazeira propose. Among the results found with the research, it is possible to affirm that the public recognizes in the figure of the journalist the competence to identify what is or is not relevant for exhibition. In addition, we found that the feeling of belonging to that space comes before the beginning of participation and that the themes that generate the most interaction are those that provide discussions about the city or that are part of the daily life of that group of participants. We point out as still superficial both the public discourse on these themes, and the approach taken by journalism.
