Abstract

Resumo : A presente monografia apresenta embasamento teórico e reflexões a respeito da Arquitetura, seu Ensino e suas Escolas. O objetivo principal desta pesquisa é fornecer dados para a proposição e, posteriormente, o projeto arquitetônico de uma Escola de Arquitetura e Urbanismo para a Universidade Federal do Paraná, nova e afinada com o século XXl. Através de revisão bibliográfica, apresenta-se a definição de arquitetura a partir de diversos estudiosos, para que se compreenda os processos e as mudanças significativas ocorridas desde a Idade Media até o momento presente. Apresenta-se, através de um panorama histórico, algumas escolas que tiveram um papel marcante e foram fundamentais no desencadeamento de discussões a respeito do entendimento da arquitetura, seu ensino, produção e crítica. São então apresentados estudos de caso de três escolas contemporâneas: Mistein Hall da Universidade de Cornell, Instituto do Sul da California de Arquitetura e a Escola da Cidade de São Paulo, escolas que, seja por seu projeto pedagógico, seja por sua infraestrutura ou seja pela relação entre ambos, são difusoras de um pensamento arquitetônico condizente com o momento presente.

Abstract : This monograph presents theoretical and reflections on the architecture, its teaching and its schools. The main objective of this research is to provide data to the proposition, and subsequently the architectural design of a School of Architecture and Urbanism to the Federal University of Paraná, and in tune with the new twenty-first century. Through literature review, we present the definition of architecture from several scholars, in order to understand the processes and the significant changes that have occurred since the Middle Ages to the present moment. It is presented through a historical overview, some schools that have had a remarkable role and were instrumental in stimulating discussions about the understanding of architecture, teaching, production and criticism. Are then presented case studies of three contemporary schools: Mistein Hall from Cornell University, Southern California Institute of Architecture and the School of the City of São Paulo, schools, either by its pedagogical project, either by its infrastructure in the ratio between them is a diffuser architectural thought consistent with the present moment.
