Sintomas depressivos na infância : presença de negligência e/ou depressão na interação mãe-criança

Abstract

Resumo: O presente estudo investigou a relação entre sintomas depressivos na infância e padrões negligentes e/ou depressivos na interação mãe criança. A amostra consistiu em 53 crianças de 9 a 12 anos do ensino fundamental de uma escola pública de Curitiba-PR, com suas mães. Os Inventários de Estilos Parentais (IEP), de Depressão de Beck (BDI) e de Depressão Infantil (CDI) foram utilizados, respectivamente, para selecionar práticas parentais negligentes, sintomas depressivos na mãe e sintomas depressivos na criança. As 53 díades responderam aos inventários, cuja correlação entre as variáveis foi estatisticamente significativa, exceto para os sintomas depressivos maternos do grupo B (escores baixos no índice de Negligência (IEP) e no CDI). Fez-se ainda uma observação de 13 díades mães-crianças, aleatoriamente selecionadas a partir da amostra de 53, sendo 6 pertencentes ao grupo A (escores altos no índice de Negligência (IEP) e no CDI) e 7 pertencentes ao grupo B (escores baixos no índice de Negligência (IEP) e no CDI). A observação proporcionou resultados significativos com relação à interação das mães com seus filhos, tendo em vista que o resultado do índice de negligência do IEP foi confirmado com os dados da observação. A análise dos escores do BDI das 13 mães indicou, no grupo semi-experimental, que, apesar da mãe apresentar um índice de negligência (IEP) e a criança sintomas depressivos (CDI), não necessariamente essa mãe vai apresentar sintomas depressivos (BDI). No grupo controle, a maior parte das mães apresentaram valores baixos nos escores do BDI, o que coincidiu com os escores do IEP e do CDI aplicados nos filhos.

Abstract: The present study investigated the relationship between depressive symptoms in children and neglected and depressive patterns in the interaction mother child. The participants were 53 children with their mothers. The children were 9 to 12 years of age. The inventories IEP, BDI and CDI were used to select neglected mothers, mother's and children's depressive symptoms, respectively. The 53 mothers and their children answered the inventories, which the correlation of the variables was statistical significant, except for the mother's depression symptoms of the B group. There was yet an observation of 13 of these children and their mothers, with 6 of them belonging from A group (high scores on neglected rate (IEP) and on CDI) and 7 belonging from B group (low scores on neglected rate (IEP) and on CDI).The observation resulted in significant information about how mothers interacts with her son/daughter, due to the IEP's neglect rate result was confirmed with the observational data. The analyses of this 13 mother's BDI's scores indicated, for the semi-experimental group, that, despite the mother has a neglected pattern (IEP) and the children depressive symptoms (CDI), not necessarily the mother will present depressive symptoms (BDI). On the control group, most of the mothers presented low scores on BDI, which was the same result for IEP and CDI, answered by the children.
