Taxonomia e análise cladística do gênero Neotropical Portanus Ball, 1932 (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Xestocephalinae)
P. filamentus (DeLong, 1980) , P. cinctus (Carvalho & Cavichioli, 2003) , P. bimaculatus (Carvalho & Cavichioli, 2003) , P. variatus (Carvalho & Cavichioli, 2003) , P. bicornis (Carvalho & Cavichioli, 2003) , P. facetus (Kramer, 1961) , P. elegans (Kramer, 1961) , P. eburatus
Portanus tesselatus (Osborn, 1909), P. hasemani (Baker, 1923), P. retusus Linnavuori & DeLong, 1979, P. boliviensis (Baker, 1923), P. longicornis (Osborn, 1923), P. uhleri Kramer, 1964 e P. inflatus DeLong & Linnavuori, 1978 são novos sinônimos seniores de P. perlaticeps Linnavuori, 1959, P. spinosus DeLong, 1982, P. cellus DeLong, 1980, P. tridens DeLong, 1980, P. chelatus DeLong, 1976, P. xavantes Carvalho & Cavichioli, 2001 e P. bilineatus DeLong, 1982, respectivamente (artigo III).
Palavraschave: Filogenia, Taxonomia, Portanus, Paraportanus, Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Portanini, Xestocephalinae Abstract: In the present paper a cladistic analysis of the genus Portanus (P. pulchellus Linnavuori, 1959 and P. corumba Linnavuori, 1959 were excluded, the first because it was described from a specimen without abdomen, and the second because it was not possible to study the type material). Articles using the method of Phylogenetic Systematics (article I), and taxonomic studies (articles II, III and IV) are presented. The outgroups chosen by the criterion of general similarity with the ingroup, are the followings: Xerophloea viridis (Fabricius, 1794), Xestocephalus desertorum (Berg, 1879), Xestocephalus irroratus Osborn, 1924, Osbornellus sp. and Osbornellus hyalinus (Osborn, 1923). From the data matrix, with 53 characters and 49 terminal taxa, it was obtained only one cladogram with 123 steps, CI = 0,75 and RI = 0,88, which does not give support for the monophily of Portanus. Description of a new genus Paraportanus and of a new species are included. P. filamentus, P. cinctus, P. bimaculatus, P. variatus, P. bicornis, P. facetus, P. elegans, P. eburatus and P. longicornis are transferred to the new genus (article II). The genus Portanus Ball is redescribed based on the obtained phylogeny. Redescriptions and illustrations of 35 from 37 known species are presented. Portanus tesselatus (Osborn, 1909), P. hasemani (Baker, 1923), P. retusus Linnavuori & DeLong, 1979, P. boliviensis (Baker, 1923), P. longicornis (Osborn, 1923), P. uhleri Kramer, 1964 and P. inflatus DeLong & Linnavuori, 1978 are new senior synonyms of P. perlaticeps Linnavuori, 1959, P. spinosus DeLong, 1982, P. cellus DeLong, 1980, P. tridens DeLong, 1980, P. chelatus DeLong, 1976, P. xavantes Carvalho & Cavichioli, 2001 and P. bilineatus DeLong, 1982, respectively (article III). In the redescriptions of the species, new morphologic characters are added, mainly those of the male genitalia. In the study of Portanus, two new species from Brazil and Bolivia are described: P. balli sp. nov. and P. DeLongi sp. nov.. Identification keys are supplied for the species of Paraportanus gen. nov. (article II) and Portanus (article III).
