Competitividade do Brasil no mercado internacional de pellets de madeira no período de 2012-2021

Abstract

Resumo : O nível de competitividade de países pode determinar o crescimento a permanência ou exclusão de um produto no comercio internacional, podendo ser mensurada por meio de dados retroativos referentes as exportações realizadas em determinado período de tempo. Neste trabalho foi avaliada a competitividade das exportações brasileiras de pellets de madeira, comparando e analisado a dinâmica das seguintes variáveis: valor exportado, quantidade exportada e preço praticado, entre os principais exportadores de pellet, o Brasil e o mundo, durante o período 2012-2021. Utilizando dados disponibilizados pela United Nations Commodities Trade (UNCOMTRADE), ComexStat (MDIC) e dados secundários, dos volumes e valores monetários exportados sob a classificação do código 440131 do Sistema Harmonizado (SH). A metodologia utilizada no tratamento dos dados foi por meio do Constant Market Share (CMS), considerando os principais importadores do pellet brasileiro como mercados consumidores. Os dados foram deflacionados e rearranjados de modo que fosse possível analisar a evolução do mercado de pellets, como também calcular o preço médio praticado anualmente. Os resultados revelaram que o Brasil se mostrou competitivo ao longo de todo o período analisado, ingressando em novos mercados e aumentando sua participação nas importações Italianas e Inglesas, os principais mercados consumidores. Todavia, sua participação no mercado internacional representou cerca de 1,15% do total exportado pelo resto do mundo dentro do período analisado.

Abstract : The level of competitiveness of countries can determine the growth, permanence or exclusion of a product in international trade, and can be measured through retroactive data referring to exports carried out in a certain period of time. To verify the competitiveness of Brazilian exports of wood pellets, the dynamics of the following variables were compared and analyzed: exported value, exported quantity and price, among the main pellet exporters, Brazil and the world, during the period 2012-2021 . Using data provided by the United Nations Commodities Trade (UNCOMTRADE), ComexStat (MDIC) and secondary data, volumes and monetary values exported under the classification of code 440131 of the Harmonized System (HS). The methodology used to process the data was through the Constant Market Share (CMS), considering the main importers of Brazilian pellets as consumer markets. The data were deflated and rearranged so that it was possible to analyze the evolution of the pellet market, as well as calculate the average price practiced annually. The results revealed that Brazil was competitive throughout the analyzed period, entering new markets and increasing its share in Italian and British imports, the main consumer markets. However, its participation in the international market represented around 1.15% of the accumulated total exported by the rest of the world in the analyzed period.
