Guilherme Glück : a paisagem e a poesia do olhar do fotógrafo da Lapa

Abstract

Resumo: Em um mundo repleto de imagens, muitas vezes não nos damos conta da quantidade delas que invadem nosso contexto. Contudo, chama a atenção que uma cidade do interior, como a Lapa, PR, contasse com a presença de um estúdio fotográfico no início do séc. XX. Certamente a relação da Foto Progresso, não é meramente um nome fantasia para um estúdio fotográfico. Trata-se sim de um desejo latente para que as conquistas da modernidade também chegassem à cidade do interior. Ao propor esta pesquisa, cujo objetivo é, também investigar as transformações urbanas ocorridas em paralelo a presença do fotógrafo Guilherme Glück, é compreender como a paisagem lapeana eram retratadas em suas fotografias. A delimitação do objeto de estudo se dá pelos registros de Glück de 1920 a 1950, na Lapa e seu entorno. Espaços estes que foram registrados por diversas motivações, apresentando as transformações temporais, nos anseios de alterar e atualizar a Lapa enquanto cidade republicana e adaptada às novas infraestruturas urbanas, tais como rede de água encanada, ruas pavimentadas, rede de energia elétrica, novos modos de transporte e comunicação. Através da sistematização das metodologias de análise das fotografias, a partir das investigações iconográficas propostas por Panofsky, ampliadas pelas análises de Peter Burke e Didi-Huberman, observando as formas simbólicas de Cassirer, através do que apresentou os avanços das pesquisas de Cosgrove, analisam-se as imagens de Glück em um contexto de uma cidade ansiosa por incorporar os padrões republicanos e de "modernidade". Ao mesmo tempo, esta tese discorre sobre o olhar refinado de Glück em suas referências e repertórios, composições e enquadramentos, bem como a contextualização de sua inserção cultural, social e tecnológica. Deste modo o fazer geográfico apresenta-se não apenas aqui como um trabalho descritivo de imagem, mas investiga além, em seus sentidos simbólicos, comunicados aqui através da fotografia de Glück.

Abstract: In a world full of images, we often do not realize the number of images that invade our context. However, it is noteworthy that a countryside village, such as Lapa, in Paraná state, had the presence of a photographic studio, at the beginning of the century. XX. Certainly, the relationship between Foto Progresso is not merely a fancy name for a photo studio. It is rather a latent desire for the conquests of modernity to also reach the inner city. In proposing this research, which objectifies to investigate the urban transformations, as well, that occurred in parallel by the presence of the photographer Guilherme Glück, it is to understand how the urban and cultural landscape were portrayed in his photographs. This study object is delimited by Glück's records from 1920 to 1950, in Lapa and surroundings. These spaces were registered for various reasons, presenting the temporal transformations, in the yearnings to change and update Lapa as a republican city and adapted to new urban infrastructures, such as piped water, paved streets, electric power, new means of transportation and communication. Through the systematization of the photographic methodological analysis, from iconographic investigation proposed by Panofsky, amplified by the analyzes of Peter Burke and Didi-Huberman, observing Cassirer's symbolic forms, through which he presented the advances in Cosgrove's research, it is intended to analyze Glück's images in a context of a city eager to incorporate republican and "modernity" standards. At the same time, this thesis discusses Glück's refined look at his references and repertoire, compositions and framings, as well as the contextualization of his cultural, social and technological insertion. In this way, the geographical work presents itself not only here as a descriptive work of image, but also investigates beyond, in its symbolic meanings, communicated here through Glück's photography.
