Abstract: The purpose of this research is to bring into relation the use of drugs by teenagers with the existing level of conflict of such age group with their parents. Many researches have been carried out in the past aiming to bring into relation the use of drugs and intra-relationship among family members. This research focusing on to what extent the relationship between wives and husbands and the perception of such relationship does affect the use of drugs on by teenagers. Twenty-one families of drug users have been selected and have been subject to two questionnaires: Conflict Analysis Form and Family Assessment Measure Version III - FAM III. The objective of such procedures was to measure the level of conflict within the couple's relationship as well as their children's perception of such relationship. In order to provide support to the data obtained through the completion of questionnaires, semi-structured interviews have been carried out with four families randomly chosen from the group that had answered the questionnaires. A group of twenty-five families with no drug users was studied in order to compare the collected data from each individual group. The collected data has been statistically processed and quantitatively analyzed. Based on the collected data gathered from the surveyed group subject to the first type of questionnaire, it has been ascertained a level of statistical significance between the data obtained from the parents of drug users and the data obtained from the parents of non-drugs users. It has not been ascertained however, a level of significance statistical between the data obtained from the group of adolescent drug users if compared to the data obtained from the group of adolescent non-drug users. After analyzing the second questionnaire, it has been ascertained that there is level of statistical significance between the data obtained from the group of parents and children within families with drug users if compared to the data obtained from the group of parents and children within families with non-drug users. The level of statistical significance applied was 5 %. The statistical hypothesis which maintains that there is a higher level of conflict among couples whose children are drug users has been confirmed. Such confirmation may indicate that there is a relationship between the couple's level of conflict and use of drugs by their adolescent children.
