Exercício físico : mecanismos de ação na terapia do câncer

Resumo: O ser humano é altamente capacitado à realização do exercício físico, resultado de adaptações metabólicas, fisiológicas, imunológicas que vêm ocorrendo há milhares de anos. Consensos médicos já evidenciam que a sua prática é capaz de prevenir diversas doenças, inclusive o câncer. No entanto, pouco se conhece a respeito de sua atuação como agente terapêutico desta patologia.O objetivo desse trabalho foi realizar uma revisão de literatura na plataforma PUBMED a respeito dos possíveis mecanismos de ação do exercício no tratamento do câncer. O exercício físico pode ser uma arma terapêutica quando aliada ao tratamento convencional visto que em teoria, pode atuar em todos os hallmarks do câncer. Conclui-se que várias hipóteses corroboram a favor do exercício físico como possível terapêutica aliada à quimioterapia, radioterapia e imunoterapia. São necessários mais estudos para individualização do tratamento conforme tipo de exercício, tipo de tumor, estadiamento. Abstract: Human being is highly qualified to perform physical activity, as a result of metabolic, physiological, immunological adaptations that have been occurring for thousands of years. Medical consensus have already approved that physical activity is capable of preventing several diseases, including cancer. Although it has been hypotesized that physical activity could be another therapeutic agent for oncology treatments, knowledge in this fied is still limited. The objective of this paper is a literature review on the PUBMED platform regarding the possible mechanisms of action of physical exercise in cancer treatment. In theory, it can be another tool associated with conventional treatment because it can act in all hallmarks of cancer. It is concluded that several hypotheses corroborate in favor of physical exercise as a possible therapy combined with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. Further studies are needed to individualize treatment according to type of exercise, type of tumor, staging.
