    Abstract

Abstract: For the past two thousand years, the Catholic Church has held the entity known as the Devil responsible for all the evil in the world. The imagination surrounding his figure has gone through several representative changes, reaching the most current one, built by the Lucifer series from Netflix. Our research seeks to understand the Devil as a reflection of our society and our time, through the analysis of the main character of the series. That's why we carried out a mapping of their characters and Lucifer; then we look at its structure based on the mythical quaternity. We investigate the history of the Devil, from its biblical origins to its most famous representations in audiovisual, and through the Warburgian vision we find the connection points between the historical Devil and the character of the series. Finally, film analysis, as an analysis methodology, allows us to understand the paths that connect us to the series' narrative and the Lucifer character. We concluded that the Devil, today, can represent our society and personify the spirit of our times.
